ECHOES pairs a readable Action Value timeline with elemental resistances, directional shield breaking and status counterplay — rewarding deliberate planning rather than reflex speed.

Action Value (AV) Rhythm
How a turn unfolds on the timeline.
Every unit’s Action Value is calculated from Speed (AV = 10000 / SPD). Lower AV acts sooner, letting you sequence buffs, marks, shield breaks and protective wards before a boss strike.
01
Arlo Lin
Frontline Buffer · AV 78
Uses Frontline Command (+ATK & self AV advance)
02
Cillian
Dark/Light Mage · AV 86
Applies Moonshadow Mark to weaken boss Magic ATK
03
Frost Guardian
Chapter 1 Boss · AV 95
Telegraphs Frost Shield & AoE Cold attack
04
Luca
Medical Support · AV 102
Casts Anti-Contamination Mist to block incoming Cold/DoT
01 / Core Gameplay Systems
Tactical depth from battle to roster growth.
All mechanics below reflect verified systems currently implemented in the playable ECHOES web build.
01
Action Value (AV) & Speed
A transparent turn timeline
Combat runs on a Continuous Turn Battle (CTB) timeline governed by Action Value (AV = 10000 / SPD). The unit with the lowest current AV acts next.
Inspect exact turn order before committing to a move, with no real-time timer forcing rushed decisions.
Speed buffs, AV advance skills (such as Arlo’s Frontline Command) and AV delay effects shift who acts before a boss.
Enemy intent indicators help you prepare shields, cleanses or shield-break strikes ahead of heavy attacks.
02
Basic Attacks, Active Skills & Passives
Every skill has a tactical window
Each companion brings a no-cooldown basic attack, two or three active skills with turn-based cooldowns, and a signature passive trait.
Basic attacks maintain steady pressure and trigger conditional perks — like Arlo’s bonus crit rate against shielded foes or Luca’s emergency micro-heal.
Active skills swing momentum through burst damage, party buffs, healing, debuff cleansing or protective barriers, governed by turn cooldowns.
Passive traits reward synergy, automatically triggering extra healing on cleanse, ATK boosts on shield break, or low-HP awakening states.
03
Damage Types, Elements & Shield Break
Break defenses and exploit affinities
Attacks deal Physical, Magical or True damage across elemental affinities including Fire, Water, Ice, Light, Dark and Non-elemental.
Physical and Magical damage are mitigated by respective defenses and elemental resistance percentages, while True damage bypasses standard mitigation.
Standard shields absorb incoming damage until depleted or shattered by shield-breaking skills like Burning Blade Assault.
Boss Frost Shields require Fire damage to break; shattering a Frost Shield inflicts Broken (破盾失衡) and delays the boss’s Action Value.
04
Squad Synergy & Presets
Build a balanced four-character squad
Deploy up to four companions in battle and maintain up to three saved party presets for story stages, boss encounters and material dungeons.
Combine frontline physical pressure (Arlo), medical cleansing and anti-contamination wards (Luca), and dual-element mark/shield magic (Cillian).
Review enemy resistances and hazard types before entering a node so your squad brings the right breaker and cleanser.
Switch cleanly between up to three saved party formations in the Party Setup screen.
05
Progression, Dungeons & Missions
Develop your roster step by step
Strengthen companions through Combat Data upgrades, Ascension milestones, Skill upgrades and Constellation Resonance.
Level characters up to Lv. 40 using Training Data and Resonance Crystals, ascending at milestone caps with Resonance Core Shards.
Upgrade active and passive skill levels with Element Residue, and unlock up to six Constellation Resonance nodes using Echo Fragments.
Clear Main Story Stage 1-3 to unlock Daily Material Dungeons (with daily bonus runs) and Daily, Weekly and multi-stage Progress Missions.
06
Cloud-Authoritative Progression
Progress that stays with your account
ECHOES uses account-bound Cloud Save so your story clears, character upgrades and Echo Guidance records remain consistent across sessions.
Major progression actions — stage clears, summons, upgrades, mission rewards and mailbox claims — are verified and stored in Cloud Save.
Return to your journey from any supported desktop or mobile browser by signing in with your ECHOES account.
Built-in pending-operation recovery protects your account if a network drop interrupts a settlement or reward claim.
02 / Shields, Elements & Status Effects
Recognize the hazard. Prepare the counter.
Riftborn and boss encounters use elemental shields, speed-draining frost and periodic contamination. Knowing how each status works turns dangerous turns into openings.
Control & Tempo寒冷與凍結
Cold & Freeze
Effect: Each stack of Cold reduces Speed by 8%. Reaching 5 stacks converts Cold into Freeze, causing the unit to skip its next turn.
Counterplay: Cleanse Cold stacks early with Luca’s Stabilizing Care, block applications with Anti-Contamination Mist, or apply Fire effects to melt Cold.
Tactical Mark & Break冰盾與破盾失衡
Frost Shield & Broken
Effect: Specialized boss barrier that reinforces enemy defenses until depleted by elemental counter-attacks.
Counterplay: Strike with Fire-attuned attacks and shield-breaker skills to shatter the Frost Shield, inflicting Broken and delaying the boss on the timeline.
Damage Over Time燃燒與中毒
Burn & Poison
Effect: Periodic contamination and elemental damage-over-time effects that trigger on the afflicted unit’s turn.
Counterplay: Remove active DoTs with Stabilizing Care (which also grants Stabilized to reduce periodic damage) or pre-emptively block them with Anti-Contamination Film.
Tactical Mark & Break月影印記
Moonshadow Mark
Effect: Applied by Cillian’s Lightless Mark, lowering enemy Magical ATK and priming the target for dual-element resonance.
Counterplay: Detonate marked targets with Moonshadow Bolt for bonus Light damage or consume marks with Eclipse Echo to generate a protective ally shield.
