What SwiftLocal can access
SwiftLocal can access files, folders and local paths that you choose so it can perform the task you request. Depending on the feature, this may include PDF documents, Office files, images, audio, video, output folders and a public media URL that you enter.
SwiftLocal does not require you to create a SwiftLocal account.
Local processing
Ordinary PDF, OCR, Office, image and local media conversion tasks are processed on your device with the app and its bundled or locally configured tools. SwiftLocal does not operate a proprietary cloud upload service for ordinary document conversion.
Finished files are written to locations on your device. The app may also keep local preferences, saved presets, task history and file or output paths so that the desktop experience can resume and show previous work.
Network access
Most document-processing features do not need to upload your files to a SwiftLocal service. Network access is used when a feature itself needs an online source, most notably the public-media URL feature.
When you ask SwiftLocal to analyse or download from a public media URL, the app and its bundled tools connect to the URL you supplied and related media services needed to complete that request. Those external services can receive normal network information such as your IP address and are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Analytics, advertising and sale of data
SwiftLocal does not include advertising, behavioural analytics or usage telemetry, and JTKC does not sell personal information collected through SwiftLocal.
Local storage and your control
Output files remain on your device until you move or delete them. Local settings, presets and task history can also remain on the device until they are removed or cleaned by the app. PDF passwords are not intentionally stored in task history.
You can remove output files with Windows File Explorer and clear completed task records from SwiftLocal where the relevant controls are available.
Third-party components
SwiftLocal includes or works with third-party components such as FFmpeg, Tesseract, QPDF, LibreOffice, yt-dlp and Deno. These components remain subject to their own licences. They are used locally for the requested task, except where a network-based feature requires them to contact an external source.
Security and responsible use
Local-first processing reduces unnecessary document uploads, but no desktop application can remove every security risk. Keep Windows and SwiftLocal up to date, use files and URLs you trust, and only process or download content that you are authorized or legally permitted to use.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when SwiftLocal changes how it handles data. The date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy changes.
